ENDS OF THE EARTH

“Wилл ыоу фоллоw ме?” “То тхе ендс оф тхе еартх.”

Ends of the Earth was an alternate reality game run by TwinBuilder on the Destroy the Godmodder Discord, located in the eponymous #ends_of_the_earth channel. It centered around the retrieval of eight pages of the Scribe’s Omnibus on the Order Of the Stone. Each page has text written in the cipher of the Scribe, and they tell some kind of tale. The ARG was split into eight installments, with each installment featuring scavenger hunt-type puzzles that ultimately lead to URLs containing future clues. The last URL found leads to an image of an Omnibus page. The completed image and translated text across all eight pages reads as follows:

“AS I WALKED THROUGH, UNBELIEVING, THOUGHTS WERE CLOUDED IN A HAZE,”
“EYES UNBROKEN, WIND WAS HOWLING, CONTEMPLATING ITS HARD GAZE.”
“NINE OF ELDERS, STANDING TOWARDS THE AGENT OF UNBRIDLED RAGE,”
“LIKE A SENTRY, I WALKED FORWARDS, ENTERING THE FINAL STAGE.”
“SHIFTED LIMBS AND TWISTED FEELINGS ALTERING WHAT SUN HAD DAWNED,”
“WITH THE KEYS, I MET THE LOCK, AND TOOK A STEP THROUGH THE BEYOND,”
“ELDERS’ CLOAKS WERE PUT ASIDE, PRESENTING THEIR IMMEASURABLE WORTH,”
“TRIFECTED GEOMETRICS BECKONED, CALLING THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.”

NOTES

Whenever Ends of the Earth was active, TwinBuilder’s username and rolename were written in Cyrillic, and his avatar turned into the image at the top of the page. He commonly spoke in Cyrillic while the game was active, and would always post the puzzles in Cyrillic, leaving it to the players to decode his text.

There were some errors with Cyrillic/Latin translation, such as Xs turning into Hs, and letters like CH and SH blending together. This was an unavoidable quirk of the translator used.

In Parts 7 and 8, however, H was represented in Cyrillic as Һ, and J as Ҹ. The Cyrillic/Latin translator used can be found here.

The general codebreaker used can be found here.

Frequently, TwinBuilder would post a “.” whenever players were on the right path, and would let players know whenever they had correctly decoded something.

The cipher of the Scribe was decoded nearly from scratch by the players, with only the letters “A,” “E,” “F,” “H,” “L,” “S,” and “W” being known beforehand.

Another cipher was used in EOTE called Ionian. A complete alphabet of Ionian can be found here. The characters in the middle are A B C D E F / G H J K L M / N P Q R S T / U V W X Y Z. I is the dash to the left and O is the dot to the right. If I/O comes before a letter, it is written under said letter. If I/O comes after a letter, it is written above said letter. If I and O are next to each other, the IO character to the top and bottom of the image is used.

All the pages formed together to create one entire image. Starting from the top-right and working clockwise, the page order is 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Due to unforeseen issues with how Imgur stores images made without accounts (all EOTE images were uploaded in this manner), some EOTE images can no longer be seen on the URLs that were intended. All images will be uploaded on this page, so they can at least be visible in some format.
